Region Five Development Commission Partners With Southwest Regional Development Commission to Explore Potential Demand of Residential Solar Financing

STAPLES, MN – The Southwest Regional Development Commission and Region Five Development Commission along with Rural MN Energy Board, are interested in knowing your thoughts about a residential solar financing model.

As a result of several inquiries to our office, the Southwest Regional Development Commission (SWRDC – Region 8 out of Slayton, MN) and Region Five Development Commission (R5DC out of Staples, MN), along with the Rural MN Energy Board, have partnered together to learn more about potential demand of residential solar financing needs.

Over the past decade, alternative energy products and services including solar systems have seen a significant increase in interest and demand. SWRDC and R5DC are partnering with utility providers, contractors and homeowners to fully understandĀ all of theĀ opportunities and barriers around a potentialĀ residential Solar Energy Lending Program.

A survey is designed for residents of our region. All residents and homeowners are encouraged to fill out an online survey which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
